Sometimes the best laid plans go awry.... We had hired for a March 1st start & unfortunately yesterday received notice that the young lady had a change in life circumstances and is no longer coming. As such, we are open to both short and long term applicants!

With an incredibly exciting 2025 on the horizon - new faces in the barn, FEI plans, and a fun & diverse schedule - we are looking for a working student/assistant trainer to join our team!

Here is a chance to work for a program where YOUR goals are a priority!
Do you want to be valued as an important member of a team? The position can easily be shaped to the goals and interests of the applicant. And how many programs do you know where the "boss" works alongside you.... Not leaving you by yourself to finish up alone at the end of the day? In this program WE are a team! Working together to provide the horses with high quality care.

Jubilee Equestrian is a mid-sized program, based in Free Union/Charlottesville VA. We specialize in training, lessons, and sales. The schedule varies depending on the horses in the barn. Thus, there is never a dull moment! We routinely sell approximately 40 horses a year (everything from OTTBs to Irish imports) to amazing homes. Throughout the year we have horses competing at USEA recognized events, the YEH series, dressage and jumper schooling shows, the RRP makeover, and unrecognized horse trials. We also have students working towards and earning their USPC ratings. Depending on the horses in for training or consignment we also foxhunt with Farmington Hunt Club.

The position can be full or part time and can be tailored to the individual's needs. Ideally the position will include general barn work, grooming, tacking, and riding (as appropriate based on applicant's ability), and teaching of some lessons. We are happy to train the right individual; the most important attributes are a willingness to work & learn, and reliability.

Remuneration depends on candidate's experience; but can include a weekly stipend, board, regular lessons, opportunity to clinic with top instructors, shipping to competitions, and housing/ a housing stipend. We understand that finances can be a significant hurdle to taking the leap into working student life.... And we want to make it work!
